The Golden Isles Development Authority (GIDA) board affirmed their commitment to local businesses by approving two companies’ funding requests from their Share the Future Initiative.
The GIDA Board of Governors considered two business applications at the first meeting of the 2021-21 fiscal year; Kut Kwick and East River Creek Gallery and Shoppe.
Kut Kwick was awarded $10,000 for equipment upgrades, specifically network servers. Stephen Johnson, General Manager at Kut Kwick, attended the meeting to share more about the project,
“We feel that new equipment will allow us to grow our online presence further. As the company grows from increased sales, it will lead to additional jobs for Kut Kwick.”
An American-disabled veteran-owned company Kut Kwick manufactures heavy-duty slope mowing and brush cutting machines. The machines and replacement parts are produced and stored at their Brunswick facility. Kut Kwick machines are sold worldwide and used by commercial users when traditional mowing equipment is not safe or effective. Since their inception in 1942, Kut Kwick has called Brunswick, Georgia home.
The $10,000 will help cover a portion of the expenses that Kut Kwick will spend on making the upgrades. These upgrades respond to the new demand that resulted from Kut Kwick’s spring release of their newly designed, Slope-Master SM-T4E.
“As a dreamer, I bought the building three years ago to improve the building and the neighborhood as well. I immediately went to work landscaping the property by planting flowers and bushes. I recently had a picket fence built where my neighbor and I work to make it beautiful with plantings. Yes, my dream is coming true,” Sharon CaCase.
Sharon is a retired special-education teacher and uses the gallery for weekly classes. In collaboration with Bright Star Care and SOAR, special needs adults visit the studio weekly to create original art projects.
The $500 in funds were approved to help complete the desired landscaping.
The Share the Future Initiative was developed to give local area business access to capital to help grow and promote their business. Share the Future funds are available for companies that are incorporated in Glynn County.
