Supporting Georgia’s Economic Competitiveness
Announced by Governor Brian Kemp, the Rural Site Development Initiative awarded $9.3 million across six projects statewide, emphasizing the importance of ready-for-development sites in sustaining Georgia’s economic edge.
“Georgia has been the No. 1 state for business for over a decade by investing in our future,” said Governor Kemp. “This program ensures Georgia remains in pole position for economic development for years to come.”
What the Grant Covers
The grant will support the following improvements at the Georgia Breakbulk Logistics Park:
- New right-in/right-out access and full-turning access to Highway 82.
- Extended water and sewer infrastructure.
- A gravel road connecting to the existing network.
- Clearing and grading of the entrance area for seamless access.
These upgrades solidify the park’s status as a certified Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) site, making it even more attractive to potential industries.
