Engineer Honored by Authority

The Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority recently honored Charles Ezelle of Thomas and Hutton with a new award. The David T. Smith EDA Award was recently created to honor longtime Authority staff member, Dave Smith.

This accolade will be given annually to any person or entity that helps the organization further economic growth in Glynn County. Mel Baxter, president of the Authority, said the honor was created to celebrate Smith’s selfless spirit that he shown during his 15 years of service. Smith recently retired from the organization.

“We wanted to do this to honor Dave and all he’s done. He has been an icon of service for Glynn County. He headed a large corporation here, he was head of the Chamber and he was the chair of the board of education,” Baxter said.
