The David T. Smith Award was recently created to honor longtime Authority staff member, Dave Smith and will be given annually to a recipient who helps further Economic Development in Glynn County. Charles Ezelle from Thomas & Hutton Engineering is the first recipient.
Coastal Pines Technical College offers free classes to help adult learners earn a GED and be successful in today’s workplace. The program is catered to each student based on their needs and interests.
Four new Panamax Cranes arrive at the Port of Savannah. Georgia Ports Authority Executive Director Griff Lynch stated "It means getting cargo to market and getting ships back out to sea with unmatched efficiency."
The Brunswick Urban Redevelopment Agency is seeking proposals from developers for redevelopment of the Oglethorpe Block. The project site is at the gateway to Historic Downtown Brunswick. The project is a catalyst for the continued redevelopment of Historic Downtown Brunswick and the surrounding Historic District.
The Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority held its regular monthly meeting Monday. During the meeting a number of business items were discussed including new board members.
