The Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority held a special called meeting Monday to discuss its strategic plan and to discuss funding for infrastructure improvements around the Canal Crossing development.
With the school year freshly behind him, James McCarter has his sights set on the future. But it’s not the fall semester he is eyeing. The principal of Golden Isles Career Academy is looking more toward the distant future — years in the future.

The interim executive director of the Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority told board members at their regular monthly meeting Tuesday he’s been fielding a number of inquiries, including one from a business interested in the city.

The Brunswick – Golden Isles Airport is on the grow. Glynn County is investing $8.5 million to expand the ramp space on both sides of the airport. The expansion has already spurred 150 new jobs for the area.
Brunswick and Glynn County has a lot to offer and is about to be even more attractive to prospective businesses. The process has begun for designating the Gateways Industrial Park as a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) Certified Site.
Brunswick Call Center S.E. Georgia offers a competitive and large workforce. Wiring is in place from previous use as a Call Center. New roof and other major improvements as of May 2018. Located adjacent to I-95 in Brunswick, Georgia. 74,000 SF total and 24,000 SF set up for Call Center. Fiber available on-site!

The Brunswick and Glynn County hosted their strategic planning session for the next five years. Community leaders came together and had some great discussion on taking Brunswick in Glynn County into the future.
In Brunswick and Glynn County, workforce development is first on the list. Each semester, several of the larger existing industries open their doors to students from the Golden Isles Career Academy so they can see what modern manufacturing is really like.
