Golden Isles Maker Meetup Updates for 2021
In the fall of 2020, we launched a new monthly networking event for the business community- Maker Meetups. These events are designed to provide a casual environment for professional, aspiring, and hobby makers to meet and share their business, startup resources, and industry best practices.
Our first two events were hosted outside at Silver Bluff Brewing Company in Historic Downtown Brunswick, Georgia to great reviews. Guests shared tips on equipment, vendors, online-sales strategies, and more. One of the best parts is the natural show-and-tell. At each event, you saw entrepreneurs and hobbyists pulling out their phones to share what they were working on back at “the shop”.
Although the initial events were a success, due to the cooler temperatures and on-going health and safety concerns our organization has decided to pause our in-person monthly networking event. While we are pausing monthly in-person networking, we will continue to feature and connect the makers and creators of the Golden Isles.
We will be visiting our startup manufacturers and creators during the pause from networking to help our maker community learn about one another and their resources to start and grow in the Golden Isles.
Out first event took place on January 26 at 9:30 am with dot & army. Follow our events on Facebook to receive a reminder when to tune-in.
Stay tuned for additional Facebook Live tours and interviews coming in February.
We will continue to monitor information and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and the Georgia Department of Public Health to determine the best time to resume monthly networking events.
