INFORMATION AND UPDATES

  • Cole Swindell is one of Georgia’s own. He grew up Bronwood, Georgia.
  • The 2019 RSM Classic Concert will be presented by Southeast Georgia Health System which is locally headquartered in Brunswick
  • Swindell majored in marketing at Georgia Southern University where he met Luke Bryan. They were fellow Sigma Chi members while enrolled and continue to work together including an current tour.
  • This year’s venue, McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport, is a busy general aviation facility.  At SSI, business and vacation travelers can arrive in the heart of the 3 Golden Isles- St. Simon’s Island, Sea Island, and Little St. Simon’s Island.
  • Swindell’s last time performing in the Golden Isles was in 2016, and the show was a sell-out. This year is anticipated to sell-out too!

2019 marks ten years of the RSM Classic hosted in the Golden Isles, GA. In 2010, the Davis Love Foundation partnered with the PGA TOUR to become the Host Organization of The RSM Classic, an Official PGA TOUR Event. Over the first nine years, the event has raised more than $13 million to support charities focused on children and families in need. The golf and surrounding events are fantastic in themselves but made even better knowing that it supports all-star charitable Foundation, the Davis Love Foundation.

Established in 2005 by professional golfer Davis Love, III, the Davis Love Foundation contributes to the well-being and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. Headquartered in St. Simons Island, GA, the private Foundation provides a positive and far-reaching vehicle for creative solutions to social ills that affect children and their families. The funds have gone on to support the Special Olympics, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia and numerous local charities through their Friends of Davis Love Foundation raffle program.

Leading up the RSM the Foundation hosts other fundraising initiatives such as Dine Out for DLF where many St. Simon’s Islands commit to donating 10% of their sales on specific dates. Dine Out for DLF is an excellent example of the Golden Isles community’s commitment to bettering the lives of the children and families in our community and beyond.

  • The scariest thing you do for fun: Ride dirt bikes
  • First concert: Hootie and the Blowfish, Savannah Civic Center
  • Favorite thing to do in the Golden Isles: Exploring downtown Brunswick. My wife and I had guests in town for the weekend arriving late Friday night. We decided to grab a quick dinner downtown. Upon trying to enter our favorite bar spot, we found that it was closed for a drag show – and sold out. Disappointed that we didn’t have tickets, we ventured across the street to another of our favorites, Basil Thai and Sushi. After we were seated a group of 15 belly dancers of various age took the table next to us. I love to experience the diversity of this town; there is always something new to be found.

  • Favorite thing to do in the Golden Isles:  I’m on a first-name basis with the local businesses in Brunswick and love supporting them, so I am shopping local all the time. • What are you reading? Building a storybrand, Donald Miller & Tides: The Science and Spirit of the Ocean, Jonathan White
  • First concert: Weezer, the blue album tour
  • The scariest thing that you do for fun: Haunted houses, they are the best part of October! I can’t wait to go to the one hosted by our College & Career Academy this year.
  • Favorite thing to do in the Golden Isles: I just moved here in May and cannot get enough of our beaches, especially with my rescue dogs Jaimoe and Maude.  They had never been on the beach before we moved to Georgia and it’s hysterical watching them try to bite the waves or chase crabs in the sand. I went from going to the beach once every 6 years to going at least twice a week, it’s awesome.
