Working Together to Support Small
This time of year, we ask shoppers to invest in their communities by shopping at small businesses. The Golden Isles Development Authority (GIDA) will be among the organizations sharing the benefits of shopping local, but we also want to encourage business owners to invest in themselves.
It can be hard to find time to step away and work on your business when working in your business, but there can be significant benefits to taking the time to step away. For example, SCORE reports that small business owners who receive three or more hours of mentoring report higher revenues and increased growth. Even if you know the benefits, it can be challenging to find the right resource to help you with your specific goals.
Fortunately, the Southeast Georgia region has a variety of resources to help businesses from start to growth. From one-on-one mentoring, workshops to funding programs, GIDA staff can help you find a resource to meet your business goals, or you can start exploring them here.
GIDA is committed to promoting the tools and resources available to support small businesses. In Glynn County, where 54% of the workforce are employed in small businesses, it is essential to help these companies succeed and grow.
This season when you shop small, also encourage the small businesses to invest in themselves. Share the available resources with the small business owners you know. Let’s work together to do more than shop small, but to support small.
