Reduce the Costs of Your Training and Development in 2021

The past year has forced rapid changes in organizations across all departments. Adapting to new technology, hybrid working models, and other changes may still have your and your employee’s heads spinning.

It may also present critical skill and knowledge gaps in your organization. We understand that the recruitment and development of a skilled workforce are essential to our region’s economic stability and prosperity.

To help fill those gaps, the Golden Isles Development Authority is offering a new Share the Future Program focused on employer training and development. The FY20-21 “Educating” program is available to help small and medium-sized businesses cover the costs associated with training and professional development.

The program is available to companies incorporated in Glynn County, where the majority of owners live in Glynn County.

Any applicant must demonstrate that the training program or certification will help the business retain existing jobs or add new jobs. Additionally, training programs must be approved by the Technical College System of Georgia.

We encourage businesses to explore available training and development at Coastal Pines Technical Technical College (CPTC). In addition to a wide range of available curriculums, CPTC can help your organization create customized employee training.

CPTC Customized Employee Training provides employers with a practical and cost-efficient solution for high-quality, customized employee group training. The curriculum, schedule, and location can be tailored to an employer’s request, then developed and delivered by professionals with relevant business and industry experience.

The Educating program will provide a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $5,000, and be paid upon receipt of an invoice for completed work. For example, if the total training cost is $4,000, the business is expected to pay the invoice total, and GIDA will reimburse the company $2,000. All program applicants are subject to Board approval and restricted by the availability of funding.
