Golden Isles Development Authority Secures $2 Million Grant for Georgia Breakbulk Logistics Park

The Golden Isles Development Authority (GIDA) is excited to announce the receipt of a $2 million grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. This funding will drive critical infrastructure improvements for the Georgia Breakbulk Logistics Park, located in Glynn County. Awarded as part of the OneGeorgia Authority’s Rural Site Development Initiative, this grant positions the Golden Isles for significant economic growth and new industrial opportunities.

Transforming the Economic Future of the Golden Isles

The $2 million investment will be used to enhance road access, extend water and sewer lines, and prepare the site for future development. These improvements are vital for attracting new industries, creating jobs, and driving long-term growth in the region.

“This grant is a game-changer for Glynn County,” said Ryan Moore, President and CEO of GIDA. “By preparing the Georgia Breakbulk Logistics Park for development, we’re not just investing in infrastructure—we’re investing in the future of our community.”

Supporting Georgia’s Economic Competitiveness

Announced by Governor Brian Kemp, the Rural Site Development Initiative awarded $9.3 million across six projects statewide, emphasizing the importance of ready-for-development sites in sustaining Georgia’s economic edge.

“Georgia has been the No. 1 state for business for over a decade by investing in our future,” said Governor Kemp. “This program ensures Georgia remains in pole position for economic development for years to come.”

What the Grant Covers

The grant will support the following improvements at the Georgia Breakbulk Logistics Park:

  • New right-in/right-out access and full-turning access to Highway 82.
  • Extended water and sewer infrastructure.
  • A gravel road connecting to the existing network.
  • Clearing and grading of the entrance area for seamless access.

These upgrades solidify the park’s status as a certified Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) site, making it even more attractive to potential industries.

A Bright Future for Glynn County

The grant aligns with GIDA’s mission to foster job creation and investment in Glynn County. By enhancing site readiness, GIDA is laying the groundwork for sustained economic prosperity in the Golden Isles.
