Golden Isles Leaders Recognized Among Georgia’s Most Influential

The Golden Isles community proudly celebrates the inclusion of six local leaders in Georgia Trend’s 2024 “Georgia 500” list, highlighting the state’s most influential figures. This recognition underscores the significant impact these individuals have on our region’s growth and prosperity.

Ryan Moore, President & CEO of the Golden Isles Development Authority (GIDA), is among the esteemed honorees. Georgia Trend notes, “Ryan Moore is at the heart of the thriving Georgia Coast, both geographically and figuratively.” Under his leadership, the Golden Isles have experienced unprecedented growth, with investments from the Georgia Ports Authority and local real estate developments. In fiscal year 2023, the region welcomed 43 new projects, bringing a potential $22 billion in direct capital investment and over 20,000 jobs. A notable achievement includes GIDA’s acquisition of the 1,400-acre Georgia Breakbulk Logistics Park, a rail-served site located just seven miles from the Georgia Ports Authority’s Colonel’s Island facility. Additionally, in January, a new Buc-ee’s travel center broke ground in Glynn County, anticipated to open in June 2025, creating over 200 jobs and serving approximately 15,000 vehicles daily.

The Golden Isles is also fortunate to have five other local leaders featured in the “Georgia 500”:

  • Matthew Hill, Executive Director of the Downtown Brunswick Development Authority
  • Ralph C. Staffins III, President & CEO of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce
  • Lonnie Roberts, President of Coastal Pines Technical College
  • Scott Raynes, President & CEO of Southeast Georgia Health System
  • Scott McQuade, President & CEO of the Golden Isles Convention and Visitors Bureau

Their dedication and leadership continue to drive the Golden Isles toward a prosperous future. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the honorees for their well-deserved recognition.
